Welcome to JeffMassage.com

Originally from North Carolina, I moved to New York City in July of 2000. I came from a performance background, but after beginning my education at the prestigious Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy, I quickly discovered my passion in bodywork and healing. I received my New York State licensure in March of 2003, and since then have found work in a variety of locations throughout Manhattan, ranging from medical offices to luxury spas. My work in chiropractic offices has honed my skills as a western-style, deep tissue massage therapist, and I have acquired a great deal of experience working with specific conditions, injuries and pain patterns. My work is results-oriented, whether for pain relief or overall relaxation and renewal. I work regularly with many Broadway dancers and actors, focusing on helping them find relief from specific patterns of myofascial pain and dysfunction resulting from their physically demanding performance schedules.

My education at the Swedish Institute included training in shiatsu, reflexology, Tui Na (Chinese medical massage), cranio-sacral therapy and lymphatic drainage. In addition, the techniques I use as a massage therapist include trigger point therapy, myofascial release, active and passive stretching, pressure point and energy work. While I offer a range of specific types of massage, the names serve mostly as a guide-post to gauge the client's expectation for the session. In practice, each massage is unique in that it seeks to meet the particular needs of the individual client, and I often blur the lines between massage styles, incorporating deep tissue, sports, shiatsu and energy work into the same session. My work is very client-centered; I strive to bring to each session the energy and techniques best suited to meet the particular needs and expectations of my client. I have experience working with men and women of all ages, interests and professions.

I am available for private work, both in-calls at several rental spaces in Manhattan and my studio in Hudson Heights, as well as out-calls (I bring my table and linens to your apartment, hotel, or other venue.)

I truly love the work I do, and find it extremely rewarding to make my living helping others find relief from pain and stress, and to increase their general health and well-being. I hope you enjoy this website and please feel free to call me for an appointment!
